War of 1812; discharged at Malden, after the battle of the Thames He was Known as early settler of Nicholas County. He was buried in Index Cemetery, Cass County, Missouri. He was a Farmer. Nicholas County, Kentucky - August 25, 1852 Gilbert & Milly sold 124 acres for the sum of $1200 to John C. Hardy & Hamlet H. Collier. Deed reserves 13 1/4 and 9 1/2 poles for Lewis Feeback.

Cass County, Missouri - March 20, 1872 Gilbert & Amelia sold a quarter section for the sum of $1000 to Henry Fryman. Recorded Book 17, p. 369.

Gilbert was a private in roll of Lt. Ariss Throckmorton's Co. Ky Mounted Volunteer Militia - commanded by Col. Job Poage. Gilbert mustered in Aug. 31, 1813 at Newport, KY.

His son, Elijah, paid $16 for coffin He was married to Amelia Permelia Ritchie on 5 Jan 1815 in Carlisle, Nicholas County, Kentucky.
