Pauline Blanche Perry Silvia
was born on
22 Jul 1924 in Akron, OH. She died on 1 Jun 1996 in Reno, NV. Died at her residence
in Reno of Heart Failure.
She lived the last 11 years of her life in Reno (the last 9 1/2 of that with
son Frank) in the trailer lot next to her sister Blanche. They shared interests
in gardening and working outdoors. They were both also known to dabble in roof
repair (even though Pauline was afraid of heights). Pauline loved the Cal-neva
slots, and played her favorite nickel machines for hours on end.
At a gathering of some of the relatives (Requested by the Minister presiding
at the funeral), the following thoughts were expressed.:
Son Frank: "She was a great mother. She was a great cook".
Daughter Dee: "She was always thinking of her Grandchildren. She was always
shopping yard-sales for things for the grandkids".
Daughter Betty Lou: "I loved her, and she loved me"
Daughter Pam: "She didn't know a stranger. She talked to everyone"
Sister Blanche: "Pauline was my sister, but she was my friend. I lost a
friend.."
She was buried on 6 Jun 1996 in Reno, NV.
Cremated remains reside at Masonic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum
437 Stoker Ave
Reno NV.
Grave 6, Plot 126, Section A
Relatives came from all over the country to attend.
Her son Frank said; "Not quite under a tree, but between two trees..One
day she will be under a tree."
At the ceremony to place her ashes in the ground, Sisters Blanche and June sang
the THREE LITTLE SISTERS (by the Andrews sisters). This song was always sung
by the three sisters as they had each married the "Soldier, Sailor, and
Marine" as in the song. They had sung the song thousands of times, but when
they got to the part that may have been Pauline's, they both stopped singing
and realized they had forgotten the words. I felt that this is because the first
of the sisters was now gone....somewhere Aunt Pauline was singing for us all.
